wow, i didn't realize it has been since september that i have posted...

i don't really have much to say right now, but i wanted to post a few pics of our easter weekend.

DISCLAIMER: only read if you have nothing better to do... this post is full of rambling!!!

it's 1:00 in the morning and i have no desire to go to bed. i might regret this when ella wakes up saying "baba, baba" repeatedly until i get her a sippy cup. tonight is different from other nights... i usually can't wait to lay my head on that pillow.
i didn't get home until 10:00 from my wonderful small group. usually that is fine, considering my wonderful husband normally has fallen asleep on the couch with our precious angel tucked in his arms sleeping peacefully (i would prefer her to be in the bed, but i'm definitely not complaining) anyway, when i got home tonight ella was wired... she had fallen asleep after dinner, slept a couple of hours, and then awoke with a bundle of energy... so i eventually got her back to sleep around 10:30, 10:45... (notice: i am just rambling... it is 1:15 am)
i did a little work on my new "job". allow me to introduce myself... my name is emily murphy, an independent consultant for the pampered chef. :) btw, if anyone is interested in pampered chef products, just call me...
alright, now that that is over with.
in our small group tonight we had a mini-conversation about getting organized... that is one of my MAJOR weaknesses. like this lady, i am a stacker. derek hates my stacks... if i could stay up after everyone else is in bed, who knows what i could accomplish...
does anyone have any advice on organization? where do i begin?

yes, i know... my baby's b'day was in june and i am just now posting the pics. oh well... i've just been spending a lot of time with her... and reading... and watching a little tv, and keeping up the laundry, and .... well you get the picture. ella turned one on june 25th. we had a little party here at the house. here are some pics to show baby girl's celebration.

yes, i made the cake... wasn't the best ever, but i was experimenting w/ fondant. anyway ella liked it as you can see in the next picture.

june 18th.... yep. that was the last time i posted anything. sorry to my 3 (count 'em 3) readers. i really want to do better. i am really trying to prioritize things/organize my life and blogging isn't ranking that high. reading other blogs is winning out. anyway, just thought i would catch you up.

ella turned 1. june 25 (2 WHOLE MONTHS AGO) and i still haven't posted birthday pics - shame on me.
ella started walking july 16th. so if you could have a little sympathy for me please. i have trouble keeping up with her.
we went on vacation the first week of july.... i will post some pics soon.
my small group started back on every other wednesday night... i sure missed those girls...
i joined MOPS of Mt. Juliet. trying to meet some local folks.
i may join mom's club / may meet some more local folks.

ready for my fall schedule to begin.

in my living room i have made a 'safe zone' for ella... well, this morning it was not so safe. i found her w/ a bag of dark chocolate raspberry hershey kisses... one kiss in each hand and one (wrapper and all) in her mouth... oh but it was so cute... i had to get the camera.

i told you that i won't be very good at keeping up the blog... i really don't know what to say... i have been reading other blogs, and they are soooo good... i really feel stupid. i guess i don't really want everybody reading about my personal life... and anything else i have to say is just dumb. oh well...
i am watching paula's party on foodnetwork. i recorded it. also, my friends from mobile were on the hgtv show, my house is worth what? i miss them.

missing my baby

i am still visiting my parents (out of town). i haven't seen my husband derek since early tuesday morning. i am missing him so much. it's thursday night and i won't be going home until saturday. and i know when i get there, he will probably bypass me and go straight for ella. sad, i know. i'm glad he loves her as much as he does. i can't wait to see him. i love you derek.

ok... i have nothing inspiring to say. i am now in cullman, al. staying at my mom & dad's. didn't do much today. i drove to cullman this morning. ate lunch at my aunt penny's. really good. got to see my new cousin, landon mundy. he's so cute. so little. this afternoon i hung out with my niece and nephews. tonight we ate mexican food, then went to our friend mary's and played cards (3-13) never played that before. we stayed til 11:30. now we are home. need to go to bed.

i didn't get to talk to derek today. he didn't call. too busy i guess. he did send me a picture of his hunting adventure this afternoon. he killed a helpless little (big) bobcat.

well, i guess i should go to bed. sorry there are no words of wisdom.

my first blog ever...

i really don't know what to say... this is my first time to ever blog. i wish i had some meaningful reason to have this blog and fill it with inspiring words, but i don't.

i guess i will just tell about our day. that's what the title is, today in the life us...

i'll begin by telling you who "us" is.

i am emily, a 27 year old homemaker. my husband is derek, 32 year old commercial construction project manager. ella, a 10 month old, perfect little baby girl. and, dusty, the 7 year old airedale that lives in the backyard.

that's us... i hope to stick with this thing and fill it in with our important moments...
